Anyone opening a panel for the first time is surprised by the price gap between local and worldwide likes. The gap exists for a reason — and choosing wrong hurts the result.

The main difference

Worldwide likes come from profiles in any country. They are cheaper because supply is larger. Local likes come from profiles in your country, cost more and are more coherent for content in your language.

When origin really matters

• Matters a lot if your profile is commercial and people check who liked. Foreign names on a post in your language stand out.
• Matters little if the goal is just to add volume to an old post or balance the profile ratio.

Effect on reach

Likes are the weakest signal among those the platform considers. They help how visitors perceive the profile, but they are not what decides delivery — saves and shares weigh more.

In other words: likes serve as social proof, not as a way to go viral. Expecting reach from likes alone usually leads to disappointment.

Ratio with followers

A profile with many followers and few likes raises suspicion. As a reference, a rate between 1% and 5% of the follower count is common on normal profiles. Far above that also draws attention.
