How to answer DMs and close more sales

All the content effort ends in a conversation. That is where the sale happens or is lost — and most of it is lost for avoidable reasons.
Response time is factor number one
Interest has a short shelf life. A reply within minutes catches someone still deciding; a reply the next day catches someone who already solved it another way.
Never start with the price
"How much is it?" is not a request for a price list: it is an interest signal. Replying with only a number turns you into a price comparison.
Before the price, one question. Just one, and specific.
Example: "I can give you the exact figure — is it for a personal or a business profile?" The answer lets you offer the right option and already starts a conversation.
A script that works
- Short greeting and a direct answer to what was asked.
- One qualifying question.
- A concrete recommendation, with the price.
- A closing question: "want me to set it up?".
Talk value before price
One sentence about what the person receives changes how the number lands. "That is 500 followers with a 30-day refill, delivered gradually" communicates something different from "500 for X".
Make the decision easy
Offer two options, not five. Too much choice paralyses. Two options turn "should I buy" into "which of the two".
Follow up
Someone who did not reply has not necessarily given up. A short, pressure-free message the next day recovers a good share of stalled conversations.
Keep records
Note who asked, what they asked and where it stopped. Simple tracking greatly increases conversion among people who already showed interest.
Summary
Reply fast, ask before pricing, present value with the number, offer two options and follow up. Customer service is the cheapest stage to improve and the one that most changes the outcome.
